Insite is the only FACTORY software available for a Cummins engine.
Be advised that you need more than just a laptop and software. You'll also need a communication adaptor, something like this: This will set you back about $800, but is mandatory to allow your laptop to communicate with the engine computer. You do NOT need a separate laptop for Insite to run. I have a 4-year old mid-grade Dell laptop (Windows 7 ) that has about every brand of diagnostic software you can get on it, and it runs it just fine. There are also aftermarket tools out there that allow you to do some of what factory software will do (e.g. It has been my observation, however, that they are NOT worth the $$ that they want for those tools. Bosch is currently trying to sell me one that retails for 10K. I used Cummins Insite, Cummins QuickServe (Cummins' online repair info database ), International ISIS (International Service Information System ), and some transmission software to diagnose and troubleshoot a couple of complex electronic issues on an International truck. Whether or not Insite is worth $700/year is up to you. Keep in mind also that QuickServe is a nice addition (for extra cost of course ) to help with specific code troubleshooting. It depends on how much time your trucks spend in the shop (likely a fair bit if they're '07 models ), and how adept you are to troubleshooting skills. It's worth it to me, because I get it for free.
